Made in Mexico City from a grain neutral base spirit with oranges from Álamo Temapache, Veracruz -- Mexico's self-proclaimed "Orange Capital of the World. The best oranges are hand-selected by the coloteros and collected for transportation to the distillery in Mexico City. There, the bitter and sweet rinds are separated and macerated separately at 65% AbV. These are mixed and redistilled. The resultant liquid is rested for two months in oak barrels. The final product is then hydrolized with tiny amounts of cane sugar to the desired 40% AbV.
El Güel Triple Sec honors the “colotero” — the day laborer who carries out the arduous task of gathering the oranges in the orchards into a weaved basket called a “colote.”
El Güel Triple Sec features oranges from Álamo Temapache, Veracruz. The oranges are carefully selected and sent to the distillery in the (in?) famous neighborhood of Iztapalapa in Mexico City where production takes place.

The arduous task of hand-picking the best oranges is done by coloteros, as they're known in this region. The harness the colote -- a large hand-woven basket -- to their head with a cloth and use this technique to carry the basket through the orchards back to the farm where they are packaged.
